We are Purna Rai and Dajubhaiharu, a band born in Dharan out of friendship, passion, and a shared love for storytelling through music. Our melodies and lyrics aim to capture the essence of life—its joys, struggles, and emotions—in the most heartfelt way possible.

Our journey began with “Kalo Seto,” a song that first introduced us to audiences and quickly earned over a million views. Soon after, “Sparsha Sangeet” went viral on TikTok, connecting us with a new generation of listeners. Each song we create is rooted in real experiences and feelings, from the innocence of a crush in “Mana Ka Kura” to the bittersweet emotions of heartbreak in “Biram.”

The band is led by Purna Rai (vocals), whose heartfelt lyrics and emotive voice form the soul of our music. He is joined by Degosh Rai (bass), Sushant Karki (guitar), Sumek Yonjan (drums), and Eyan Thulung Rai (flute)—each bringing years of experience and unique influences that shape our sound. Together, we embrace variety, never confining ourselves to one genre. Our music flows from what we feel in the moment—sometimes soulful, sometimes playful, but always authentic.

Since our official formation in December 2023, we’ve performed at over 50 shows, including international stages in Australia, Dubai, and Siliguri. While we faced challenges—building an audience, financial struggles, and the process of growing together as a team—we’ve remained committed to creating music that resonates with people.

For us, music isn’t about chasing trends or fitting into boxes. It’s about honesty, simplicity, and raw emotion. Every note, every lyric, comes from lived experiences and heartfelt inspiration. Our goal is simple: to keep telling stories that move people, and to make sure Purna Rai and Dajubhaiharu continues to thrive in Nepal’s musical landscape.
